All I’ve ever wanted was to be loved, but if this is what true love is…I’m not so sure I want it anymore. It also makes me wonder if any of my memories of our once happy marriage are even real. Maybe I just conjured up the fairy tale in my head because I wanted…no…needed it so much. Who the hell knows?

“Molly just called to remind you about your book club meeting this afternoon.” He turns away. “I told her you’ve never missed a meeting and I doubt today would be any different.”

The door shuts behind him before I let a smile creep across my lips. Instantly, the hurt from this morning flees my mind and I feel nothing but giddiness. I have a book club meeting today, and let’s just say it’s not your everyday book club.

Sure, my husband may never truly love me again…but who needs love when you’re about to get an eyeful of hot firemen?

Tell Me You Love Me is the first in a four-book series called Fire Me Up—a sweet romantic comedy series about a group of sassy neighborhood women who have a serious love for steamy romance novels and sexy firemen. Lucky for them the local firehouse is just a few steps away and is in no shortage of hot firefighters to fill their wild imaginations.

In TELL ME YOU LOVE ME, we meet Lizzy, a sweet and vivacious woman with a great sense of humor, but has the unfortunate fate of being married to a douchebag husband who has brought her to tears on more than one occasion with his cold behavior and insults. The guy is such a Grade A douchebag from the instant you meet him, and make you want to kick his teeth in every time he opens his mouth. Fortunately, Lizzy has been blessed with amazing girlfriends that allow her to be her fun and vivacious self when they meet for their regular book club meetings.

Now, Lizzy's book club isn't your normal book that meets for coffee and chit-chat about their latest reads. No, this book club is filled with women just as sassy and entertaining as Lizzy. Molly, Rose, and Rachel each have their own painful histories but they all gather together to gush about their latest book boyfriends. An added bonus to their book club meetings is that the local neighborhood firemen just happen to pass by their meeting place every.single.time. This ain't no coincidence my friends.

One day, during their meeting, Lizzy and her girlfriends discover that there is a new addition to the fire house, and this guy totally gets Lizzy burning up. While the other guys on the team might be great eye candy, Ryan totally has Lizzy stopping from breathing momentarily, dropping her jaw, and drooling like a dog in heat. Okay...it's not quite like that, but you get the gist. He's totally setting off her alarms and it seem like she has the same affect on him. The two instantly hit it off but there's that niggling little issue of Lizzy being married to a total douche canoe.

She doesn't have that happiness in her eyes that a woman in love would have. I've seen it before. That glow. That ere of happiness. Lizzy doesn't have that look of being complete. Content.

But, she does light up when she sees me. Her smile does reach all the way to her eyes when we talk. That has to mean something.

I'll leave you off right there because I want you to read what happens with Lizzy and Ryan's romance. I know a lot of you are probably thinking that there will be cheating involved but without giving away too much, I will guarantee you that there is NO cheating. Told in alternative POV's, you see how Lizzy and Ryan form a bond that begins with friendship and eventually blossoms into something more. This books isn't just about a romance; it's a book about friendships, family and Lizzy discovering her strength. In the 180+ pages of this book, you see Lizzy slowly gaining strength to get herself out of her loveless marriage, and gaining back her self-confidence that her husband has been chipping away the last few years. The two characters are absolutely adorable and I liked following them along as they discover something new and exiting during the most inopportune time.

While it might not be packed with as much angst, drama and sexy times are my normal type of reads, TELL ME YOU LOVE ME, is a sweet, sassy and satisfying read. Julie Prestsater had me smiling the whole time I was reading this book and her adorable characters just made this book a pleasure to read. It's a wonderful start to a romantic comedy series and I definitely cannot wait to see what happens to the rest of the women in the Fire Me Up Book Club.

If you want something quick, fun, and satisfying to read then I definitely recommend you give this new fun series a chance!
